| Santa Clara, CA (January 14,
2002) - Analog Devices, Inc. today announced a collaboration with Intrinsic Graphics, Inc.
to integrate its SoundMAX SPX advanced audio rendering technology into the Intrinsic
Alchemy game development platform. The product will allow developers to concurrently
create both graphics and high-quality "Animated Audio" - realistic sound effects
that change in real-time in direct response to a game player's input. Scheduled for release in March, Intrinsic Alchemy 2.0 will be officially announced at the Game Developer Conference (March 19 - 22, 2002, San Jose, CA) and will significantly enhance its strengths as a platform for the creation of games on Sony PlayStation®2, Microsoft® Xbox(tm), Nintendo Gamecube(tm) and PC. Evaluation copies are available immediately and can be downloaded through the Intrinsic Graphics web site at www.intrinsic.com. "SoundMAX SPX was clearly conceived with the same goal as Alchemy - to provide developers with the most efficient, high-quality tools for the creation of games across a spectrum of platforms," said Steve Gleitsmann, Intrinsic Graphics Director of Business Development. "The next generation of Alchemy will be the most powerful and efficient game development platform on the market."
