Turtle Beach Unveils API for its AudioTron at Electronic House Expo Spring 2002

PDAs and Home Automation Systems Can Now Control the Highly Regarded, Networked Digital Audio Appliance

ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 7, 2002-- Turtle Beach(TM) today unveiled an application programming interface (API) for its AudioTron(TM) digital audio appliance, showcasing its benefits to attendees at Electronic House Expo Spring 2002 (Booth #1127).

The API permits a wide range of third-party devices such as PDAs and home automation systems to control the device.

``We've already made more than 20 significant updates to the AudioTron since its market introduction in 2001, based heavily on daily conversations with our customers,'' said Seth Dotterer, director of marketing for Turtle Beach. ``The release of an API followed the same path. Our advanced users and audio installers related that this new option will help the AudioTron make its way into thousands of new homes during the coming year.''

A beta version of the API is available for download from www.turtle-beach.com.

Designed to organize and play an unlimited number of digital audio files stored on the owner's personal computer, as well as Internet audio streams, the AudioTron transmits and receives data via standard in-wall phone wiring (HomePNA 2.0) or an Ethernet 10BaseT network. With the included Turtle Beach AudioStation® software, the PC becomes a whole whole-house music jukebox, delivering audio to any room where the AudioTron is located. This includes MP3 and WMA files, as well as uncompressed WAV files.

Electronic House Expo is the leading trade show and conference of the $15 billion connected home industry. Visit www.ehexpo.com for complete event information.
