MEDIA JUKEBOX 8.0 Adds Power and Grace

Minneapolis, MN (June 6, 2002): J. River, pioneering digital music software developer, today released version 8.0 of its award-winning MEDIA JUKEBOX media management software. This player and organizer introduces the latest technology in jukebox software for playing MP3's, ripping, burning and managing a digital music collection.
A close collaboration between developers and MJ users, in the unique online forum called Interact, has resulted in a more streamlined interface with a wealth of new features such as a file Tagging Studio, Download Manager and a CD Labeler.

Options for customization have been enhanced with a revised Media View feature that can include custom fields, file location and playlists. Three different skinning modes are now supported: MEGA-MODE, mini-me freeform skinning and support for more than 40,000 Winamp skins. A Visualization Studio feature lets users create their own savable visualizations, and a DSP Studio allows customization of the listening environment.

In addition, the jukebox includes utilities such as the Media Scheduler for sleep, alarm and recording functions, and a Media Editor for editing sound files. The new Download Manager utility works seamlessly with sites such as Emusic.com for easy download and playback of tracks and albums.

"This release has taken the jukebox software category to an entirely different level. Version 8.0 represents the most comprehensive, all-in-one solution available for collecting, organizing and playing music and other media files," says Nikolay Sokratov, J. River's Chief Technology Officer. "We're giving users a complete set of tools in a streamlined package. Our development effort was shaped by a large group of enthusiastic and vocal MJ users. They asked us to build it and we did."

MEDIA JUKEBOX supports MP3 hardware players and some remote control devices. Home networking on multiple PC's is enabled through the Media Server.
