Benwin Delivers Enriched Sound Quality in Response to Consumer Demand for Popular Flat Panel Speaker

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 12, 2002--Benwin, the recognized leader in multimedia speaker development, today announced the availability of the first model from a line of slim-profile speaker systems, featuring enriched sound quality achieved by replacing the audio technology originally featured in the company's first generation of flat panel speakers.

Benwin has replaced the audio technology powering the BW2000 flat panel speakers with the company's proprietary Neomanic(TM) micro-drivers, which deliver audio output equivalent to that of a 3" conventional driver, without affecting the 7mm wide satellite speakers, being only the size of a quarter.

The BW2000 speaker system continues to be sought after for its innovative design, small footprint, portability and overall value. "Seeing as the demand for the BW2000 has not diminished and a new audio solution has become available, we believe it is our responsibility to extend the highest level of quality onto them," said Benwin's vice president of sales Kerry Lynn Johnson. "The B2020 was the best way we could ensure our customers' computing experience would be enhanced," concluded Mrs. Johnson.

Benwin will not pass on the development costs to the consumer with a higher price-point, instead the B2020 will carry an MSRP of $29.99, which is equivalent to that of its predecessor -- the BW2000.

The B2020 slim profile speaker system includes two satellite speakers, and a subwoofer unit, which houses the power on/off button, LED power indicator, volume and tone controls, and a headphone jack. The system also includes side mount brackets for attaching the skinny speakers to the sides of your monitor. The B2020 is available through the company's network of computer retailers, online merchants, and distributors.
